​The key objectives of this internship program are (aligned to UGC Guidelines):

1. Exposure in emerging technologies: Training on Data Analysis, Data Visualization, Basic Python for application in Data Science and Machine Learning

2. Developing Research Aptitude: Exposure to research methodology, survey and data interpretation

3. Professional Competency: Development of decision-making and teamwork skills, Professional principles, Ethics, Values and Integrity to help learning to perform tasks the way the employment market demands.

4. Understanding of the world of work: Projects will be assigned to the interns which needs to be delivered under the guidance of assigned mentors

5. Career Planning: Career planning options with emphasis on Entrepreneurship. Learn from first generation entrepreneurs on the challenges and rewards in a startup journey.

Eligibility: Open to all undergraduate students from any college or university. Should be able to devote at least 10 hours per week for 12 weeks. 

​

Delivery Model: The training classes and discussions will be held online three days a week (Tue,Thu,Sat) from evening 7pm – 9pm. There will be two days of campus immersion program at ISI Kolkata that will be held on weekends (date to be announced). Immersion program is not mandatory but highly recommended.

Project Work: Project work is mandatory to obtain the internship completion certificate. Every student to work on individual project assignments. Project work can be done from home with occasional meetings with the mentor / guide. ​​

Internship Management Fees: IDEAS TIH will collect a Rs. 2500 + 18% GST (total fees Rs 2950) to manage the internship program. The fees need to be paid through the Billdesk online payment link of IDEAS-TIH mentioned below prior to enrolling for this internship. Fees will not be refunded after the internship is initiated.

Terms & Conditions:

1. This program is offered by the Institute of Data Engineering, Analytics and Science Foundation (IDEAS), which is a not-for-profit company and a technology innovation hub of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.

2. Internship completion certificate will be issued by IDEAS TIH upon successful completion of the training and field work/project deliverables. Students who do not complete the project work will not get receive the internship completion certificate.

3. Students need to be skilled in using Laptop / Computers and Microsoft Office (or equivalent), and should be comfortable with Class X level mathematics

4. Students should know the basics of programming, have the aptitude to learn computer programming in Python language in Google Colab

5. Training / Workshop / Project work will be conducted in English

6. IDEAS TIH will assign project guides for the students and mentor them till completion of the assignment.

7. Internship does not provide any commitment for future job / campus placement opportunities.

8. Institute reserves all rights to select / reject student applications without showing any reason.
