WITH ADDED FOCUS ON AI/ML, LLM and Agentic AI

IDEAS TIH at ISI Kolkata is offering opportunities for young graduate students to learn and work on projects as a part of its Spring Internship program. The program covers a deep dive into Data Science, AI/ML, LLM and Agentic AI. With two different options to choose from, this is a unique opportunity for UG / PG students to get the required credits for their internship.

If you are you a student or aspiring data scientist eager to gain practical skills and mentorship in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence you may join the Spring Internship Program organized by the IDEAS Technology Innovation Hub at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, starting January 21, 2026. This unique internship blends high-quality instruction with hands-on project work guided by experienced mentors. You may enrol for any one of the two options below:

Option 1: Foundational Internship (4 Weeks | 60 Hours)

Option 2: Advanced Internship (10 Weeks | 120 Hours)

What you will learn: 

The internship will include online lectures, self-paced learning, and mentor-guided project work covering the following topics:

  • Data Structures & Algorithms

  • Python Programming

  • Basic Statistics

  • Machine Learning (ML)

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Large Language Models (LLMs)

  • Agentic AI

  • Communication Skills

Eligibility: Open to all UG/PG students from any college or university. No eligibility test / selection criteria. Students should be willing to spend 15-20 hours per week for this program.

Flexibility of choosing between two intership options based on your time commitment and aptitude

Option 1: Foundational Internship (4 Weeks | 60 Hours)

  • Mode: Online

  • Lecture Timing: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Monday to Saturday, for 2 weeks)

  • Duration: 4 weeks (2 weeks of classes + 2 weeks of project work)

  • Internship Management Fees: ₹2,000 + 18% GST

  • Ideal for: Beginners or students seeking a solid foundation in data science.

  • Compatible with UGC guideline, tailored for University curriculum including Calcutta University

Option 2: Advanced Internship (10 Weeks | 120 Hours)

  • Mode: Hybrid

  • Includes: All of Option 1 + advanced topics and an extended project period

  • Duration: 10 weeks (3 weeks of classes + 7 weeks of project work)

  • Internship Management Fees: ₹4,000 + 18% GST

  • Ideal for: Learners with prior exposure to data science or those looking to undertake more complex projects.

Terms & Conditions:

  1. This program is offered by the Institute of Data Engineering, Analytics and Science Foundation (IDEAS), which is a not-for-profit company and a technology innovation hub of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.

  2. Internship completion certificate will be issued by IDEAS TIH upon successful completion of the training and field work/project deliverables. Students who do not complete the project work will not get receive the internship completion certificate. 

  3. Students need to be skilled in using Laptop / Computers, and should be comfortable with Class X level mathematics for both the options (Foundation / Adanced).

  4. Training / Workshop / Project work will be conducted in English

  5. IDEAS TIH will assign project guides for the students and mentor them till completion of the assignment.

  6. Internship does not provide any commitment for future job / campus placement opportunities.

  7. Institute reserves all rights to select / reject student applications without showing any reason.

  8. Institute reserves all rights to cancel this advertisement without showing any reason.

  9. IDEAS TIH is open to signing MoUs with the University / Colleges on this program
